Our Wool

Did you know that the type of sheep you get your wool from is important?

The wool we provide comes from two different types of sheep. The breeds were chosen due to their ability to produce delicious meat as well as wool for quilting and fiber art. Cedarview Farms has Suffolk and Dorset sheep.

The Suffolk Breed provide fleeces with medium wool with a length of wool of about 2"-3.5".  These sheep have a black face and black legs.

The Dorset breed is a white faced sheep providing wool that is strong and free of dark fiber and averages 2"-4" length of wool fiber.
